Winter Blues

Heey girlies!!

Sorry for such a long break =(
I was busy with my 6 week internship and studies. So I decided to put my baking and blogging at a pause. But now its over and i'm freeeee ( i was trying to find Maddie from Suite Life of Zack and Cody, doing the "i'm freee i'm free i'm freee ee ee", but i couldn't find it =( *sigh* Google is killing my creativity. i will just let you work on that then. Go on imagine her)
Any hoo, bottom line, i am back!

I was applying some lip balm to my lips when i thought *gasp* i should do a post on what products i'm using this winter. So here it is;

I absolutely love winters, but the dryness of my skin, gets me the winter blues.
My skin is normal to dry, so almost every type of products suit my skin. Please keep in mind your skin type before trying any of these products.

So, I start the day with this, the Lady Diana Collection Face and Body Sunblock

I do not recommend this product at all. Seriously, don't buy it.
I am using the one on the right. Can't say anything about the left one.
I am using it just till I find a good sun block. You might be wondering why I'm using a sunblock in winter. Well, I am from Karachi and there is no trace of winter, or anything cold for that matter in Khi in the afternoon. The Sun just doesn't want to leave us. Our winter has a specific time, the cold air from all over the world, rushes past us at around 10 pm and waves at us as it leaves at around 7 in the morning.
But yes, since my skin is dry so my skin tends to get dry during this season.
Oh! i forgot to mention, this season pretty much lasts around 2 months.
Okay! Enough with the sass.

This is what happens to my fingers in the winter. I have a nasty habit of peeling the skin off so I really need to take care of my hands, especially my fingers.

For my face, neck and hands I use the Clean & Clear Shine Control Daily Facial Moisturizer

I know it says shine control but I don't really think so.
The first time I used the product in summer, I used more than I should have and my skin got really greasy even though it says its oil free. The second and third time I used just a bit but the same problem prevailed so I stopped using it for a while. I started using it in around fall again and I used just the portion that comes out with one push. And it worked!
It is actually a good product for winter but doesn't really do what it promises.
So now I use it at home and before going to bed.

Okay! now lets talk about the body.
I am using Dove Go Fresh Nourishment Body Lotion, DeepCare Complex for Normal Skin

I highly recommend this. It leaves your skin feeling fresh. It not only fulfills its promise of nourishment but also the promise of " Fresh cucumber & green tea scent with a cooling sensation" You can actually feel the difference in your skin. It comes for every skin type. I bought the one for dry skin first but wasn't really working for me so I switched to this one. I usually apply this body lotion after taking a shower.

I oil my hair in this season mostly. I am trying to follow the "oil your hair twice a week to solve all the problems" advice.
I have been using Dabur Vatika Enriched Coconut Hair Oil

Now I know the secret of the beautiful Indian hair. Try this oil. It makes your hair so shiny, smooth and silky you will just fall in love with them.

Last but not the least, the product I use for my dry lips.

Absolutely loving this! Nivea Hydro Care gives a nice sheen to your lips and it actually makes them look a bit fuller too. A great product for dry lips. Makes your lips buttery smooth with just one application.

Okie dokes, so now you know what products you need to buy this season.

Ana's Special Tip:
The most important thing that we forget about is our water intake. We don't feel as thirsty in winter than we do in the summer. So it is really important to keep reminding your self to drink water to complete your day's requirement. Drinking water is the best remedy for dry skin.
Take care of your body and it will take care of you.

I will Insha'Allah be coming up with a lot more stuff, not just beauty related, but everything in general, so keep an eye on Ana's Journal. =)

Have you used any of these products? Did you like them? What other products are you using this season? Voice it out in the comments section below. xo
