Sheops - The First Buying and Selling Platform Exclusively for Women

They say need is the mother of invention...

When you listen to the stories of entrepreneurs they usually revolve around the missing element in the market that they filled.

For Nadia, it was the need of a platform where women can easily sell their service/products and buy without being harassed or scammed.

And so it all started with a whatsapp group between friends which soon grew to be a renowned buying and selling Facebook group of 30000+ ladies called Sheops.

Nadia and her team have spent days and nights to make the group what it is. A safe, drama free and convenient space for women to perform their buying and selling activities. A space, where women encourage each other, where brilliant business women are growing, and a space where these women are breaking the stereotype of women not being able to do anything more than household chores. This group is the first of it kind.

My own sister has benefited a lot from Sheops so I can myself vouch that the platform that Nadia has created is an amazing space for ladies to showcase their business activities.

And now Sheops is moving on to becoming bigger and better.
They have gone live on the world wide web. Not only that, Sheops app is also available for free to download from Google play and Apple store!

Sheops is now a safer and even more convenient to use for the buyer and the seller as well.

Online virtual shops will be allocated to sellers and buyers will be able to see everything that is trending just like we see on our Facebook timelines. The thought behind this was to not let the user feel the change from group to web site and let people explore in the environment they are comfortable with.

Now the question is that how will team Sheops verify that the users are all ladies. Well, users connect their account to Facebook and through their Facebook profile the team will check and verify if the user is indeed a woman. Just as they verify it now and so the site remains a safe place for women to carry on with their activities.

The stories we got to hear on the launch event were so inspiring. I was very surprised to realize that us women, we underestimate ourselves so much. Most of us are so modest that when people praise any of our skills and tell us to turn it into a business venture our first response is "kon khareeday ga mujh se" (who will buy it from me?)

Sheops has helped women reach their target market, it has helped them grow their business and it has helped majorly in empowering women. It is extremely important for today's women to dream, dream big and achieve their goals. We need more women like Nadia who.think about women and helping them in their struggle.

As women, we should encourage and motivate each other. That is how we will be able to create a better world where women are empowered and are independent!

As i finished this article i gt to hear some more amazing news. Sheops is going to Silicon Valley. Nadia Patel Gangjee will be representing Sheops at GES 2016, featuring Obama, on an invite by the U.S Government and to top it off the trip is fully sponsored by the Department of States.

I wish Nadia and her team the very best of luck and hope this opens up a new pathway of success!

Review: The Mad Batter

With home based bakeries popping up here, there and everywhere you have access to satisfy your sweet cravings whenever you want but which ones are truly worth it?

Being a a baker myself it is very hard to satisfy my sweet tooth. And brownies are my personal favorite. They might look like they are easy to make but they need perfection.

So when I suddenly got a craving for fudge brownies the first place I thought of was Pie in the Sky but then I thought hey I know it's hard having a home based bakery these days (trust me i know, ran one called The Baking Hodgepodge for 3 years) and a good word of mouth is mostly what these guys depend on so I set out looking to try out a home based bakery to review here. Asked on Sheops and also randomly searched groups to find as many as I can.

A few people replied to my query on Sheops and I decided to go for The Mad Batter.

Sometime around 5 in the evening I messaged Pariseh (such a unique name, isn't it) and received a reply in minutes. I was asking for delivery on the same day but she refused saying her goodies are freshly baked and the delivery can be made the next morning (did not have a problem with that AT ALL) Finalized the details and confirmed an order for half a dozen Fudgy Brownies (called Double Chocolate Chocolate Chips Brownies at The Mad Batter) @ Rs. 450.
I later got a message from the delivery service confirming the order.
Received the Brownies at around 11 and devoured them for breakfast (so healthy, eh?)

VERDICT:
And now for the good stuff.

The Brownies:
Oh-em-gee!
The box is right next to me and it is very hard to resist taking a bite off another one.
They are super chocolatey, right amount of crunch and the chewy-ness? I just can not begin to tell you the perfection it had. Chewy, soft and so so fudgy. Exactly the way I like my brownies.
And @ Rs. 450 per half a dozen they are a STEAL!

Customer Service:
Periseh is so nice to talk to and is super friendly. She was in constant communication with me until I got the box in my hands and even after that she was ready to answer the further queries I had. The complete transaction was as smooth as Chocolate Ganache ;)

The Mad Batter's signature dessert is authentic Italian Tiramisu and the most popular item on their menu is Blueberry Cheese Cake. Pariseh has been baking for almost two years now and when asked about her future plans she said she only bakes as a hobby.

Well here is hoping that her little hobby turns into something big in sha Allah.

Review: MUA Lipstick - Tulip

I am pretty sure you guys are tired of hearing this now but lipsticks are my absolute favorite products,
Lipsticks are love! They are awesome. Period. You have so many types of finish.

Matte
Glossy
Semi Matte
Shimmery
Frosted
Satin

Shimmery and pure mattes are a big no no for me and i prefer to go for Frosted, Satin or Glossy finish.

If you have read my post on the GoodyBag Reveal from the Jordana and Just4Girls meet up, you would know that i got a MUA Lipstick in Tulip by Just4Girls. If you'd like to read the post you can do so here.

Okay. So coming to the review. MUA has a wide range of affordable products. The quality is great for the price which i would say is the best thing about it. I already have a lipstick in shade 06 and was excited to try out this new shade called Tulip.

The lipstick is contained in a black tube with the MUA logo in silver. The bullet closes with a click which makes it sturdy enough to keep in your bag. It has a tiny pot of lipstick screwed at the bottom. You can use a brush to apply the lipstick from the pot and you can also melt and keep the remains of the lipstick in it once you have finished the bullet.

The texture is creamy and you can easily apply it on your lips and it gives a smooth finish.

Tulip is a cool pink and mauvish kind of shade which, to be very honest, does not suit our desi skin tones, BUT MUA does offer a variety of shades and some are just absolutely delicious!!

Verdict

So you wanna know what i think?! hmm. I would say that for the price for which you are getting these...its quite a steal. They arent really long lasting, When you eat or drink something it will start to fade away but fear not, just reapply, retouch and you are good to go! It did not dry out my lips but did settle into my fine lines when i applied just one coat. You can easily turn it matte or semi matte as you prefer. All you have to do is pat some powder blush on your lips.

It goes the other way round as well. You can use the lipstick as a cream blush too :)
